DOWL led the planning and design of this one-acre food cart pod in Beaverton, Oregon. DOWL led the planning and design of the first food cart pod in Beaverton. This project was the first food cart pod to receive land use approval under the City of Beaverton’s Food Cart Pod code, which presented DOWL an opportunity to work with Beaverton staff to properly implement the code to produce a real-world design.

Located just south of Beaverton City Hall, the pod includes space for 31 food carts and an 11,000-square-foot bar with indoor/outdoor seating. The site can host events for up to 150 people in a clean, comfortable environment.

The DOWL team developed designs for the site layout and grading, pedestrian circulation, covered and uncovered bicycle parking, and water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
